CALM Your Anxious Child with THESE Simple Breathing Techniques!

anxious big emotions emotional regulation worry Nov 07, 2024

Hey there,

If you've ever found your child (or maybe even yourself) struggling with worry, then you know how this emotion can really cause trouble. You've probably heard to "take a deep breath" and even tried telling your child to do that, but so often it doesn't work. That ends today.

Check out this week's video where I will model for you 5 different ways to practice deep breathing with your child so that when worry starts to overcome them, they have a practical strategy that they can use anywhere and anytime.

One of the things about any heart-based strategy is that we need to practice it often if we're going to see it be successful in moments of worry. The good news is that you can integrate deep breathing practice into your daily life multiple times a day.

Imagine if you started making it a routine to do a quick deep breathing exercise before your family prays for each meal. Now add a practice session when you wake up and lie down, and you just created 4 to 5 deep breathing practice sessions in your child's day. Not only is this good practice for them, but it also has so many benefits in the moment.

So go ahead and check out this week's video, and when the video is done, practice one of the 5 ideas I share. You'll be so glad you did.

All my best,

B.J.
