Give Better Instructions to Kids

cooperation instruction routine Apr 13, 2023

Does it feel like a battle in your house every time you need your kid to do something? Does it feel like you are always arguing to get simple things done? What if I told you that I discovered that there's something that we parents are doing that if we started changing could really make a bug impact on changing that dynamic so it became more positive.

That's exactly what  this week's video  is all about:

In this video, I'll show you exactly what that thing is and how to change it.

Following instructions from a parent isn't just about getting kids to listen and getting things done around our house. It's about training our kids' hearts to be responsive. In 1 Samuel 15, Yahweh states that He is grieved that He made Saul king because he has not followed His instructions.

Wow! Not following God's instructions grieves Him. That's a strong word. This must matter to God a lot then.

God has appointed us parents as heart trainers for our kids. It is our job to prepare our kids' hearts for life including a life of hearing His call and following fully. So when we tell our kids to pick up their shoes, clean up their toys, or clear the dishes, it's not just about doing the chore. It's about training the heart to follow Jesus.

So if there's anything we can do on our end to make this work more smoothly, we should probably figure that out and go do it. So with that said, go ahead and  watch this week's video .

All my best,

B.J.
