Help Your Anxious Child with THIS First Step
Mar 08, 2025
Hey there friends,
Have you ever told your child “Don’t worry, it’ll be fine”—only to watch them get even more anxious? 😟
As parents, we want to reassure our kids and help them feel safe, but sometimes our words aren’t enough. In fact, telling an anxious child "You're fine, don't worry" can make them feel unheard and even more overwhelmed.
That’s why I created the C.A.L.M. response, a simple, biblical approach to guiding kids through their worries in a way that actually works (... and it can even work for other big emotions as well).
👉 In this week's video, I’m sharing the FIRST step: Connect.
In this video, you’ll learn:
✅ Why dismissing your child’s fears can actually make them worse
✅ The #1 thing to say when your child is anxious (and what NOT to say!)
✅ A biblical approach to calming their heart (Proverbs 20:5)
✅ A real-life example of a child who struggled with worry—and how her parents helped
Too often, we focus on fixing our child’s anxiety instead of connecting first. But before a child can listen to reason or even trust in God’s truths, they need to know they are heard, valued, and not alone in their emotions.
💡 When kids feel connected, they become more open to peace. This is the foundation for helping them move past worry and into confidence.
This is part 1 of a 4-part series! I’ll be covering the next steps in upcoming videos, so be sure to watch and subscribe so you don’t miss the rest.
💬 I’d love to hear from you!
